Metropolitan Filaret to cancel stamp marking 200th anniversary of Gomel Cathedral

MINSK, 30 October (BelTA) – Metropolitan Filaret of Minsk and Slutsk, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus will cancel a postcard with an original postmark “200th Anniversary of the Cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul” in Gomel using the stamp “The First Day”, the Gomel Orthodox Eparchy told BelTA. The memorable event will take place at Rumyantsev-Paskevich Palace in Gomel on 31 October. Visitors of the palace will have a chance too see photos and documentary materials from the museum stocks of the palace about the council of St. Peter and St. Paul. The Belpochta mail service will present an exhibition of postmarks and postcards featuring churches and cathedrals of Belarus. The event is organized by the Gomel Orthodox Eparchy, Gomel affiliate of Belpochta, Gomel Palace-Park Ensemble.
