Gomselmash plans to produce cotton harvesters

Gomselmash Production Association plans to start manufacturing cotton harvesters, BelTA learned from the head of sales at Gomselmash Igor Korotkevich.

A potential customer can be Rainport Universal Limited which specializes in growing and processing this crop in virtually all countries of the Central Asian region. The idea of the partnership came from the Asian businessmen. They visited the Gomel company to discuss possible the options of cooperation.

The parties developed a plan of action. "In early July we sent the company our suggestions. By the end of this year Gomselmash is ready to ship three industrial samples of a two-row trailed harvester to be tested directly in the fields. The company can start a series production of this machine in 2015," said Igor Korotkevich.

Specialists of the Gomel company are sure that they will be able to design the machine, which will be reasonably priced and high in quality. In Central Asia there is a company that produces such equipment, but consumers are not quite happy with the quality. Igor Korotkevich added that Turkey has been working on a similar machine, though without much success. "Despite the apparent simplicity of the design, it has a few “tricks”, without understanding of which it is impossible to get the result. We know them," stated Igor Korotkevich.

OAO Gomselmash was established in 2013 on the basis of the Gomselmash factory founded in 1930. Gomselmash is one of main agricultural equipment manufacturers in the CIS and Europe. It produces self-propelled and tractor-drawn fodder harvesters, mowing machines, harvesters, detachable agricultural equipment and potato and beet harvesters.
