The number of organizations with Russian capital, which are registered in Gomel Oblast, increased up to 450 in 2022, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Ivan Krupko at a solemn assembly held in anticipation of Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia.
Ivan Krupko said that the number of organizations with Russian capital rose to 450 in Gomel Oblast in 2022, including eight companies operating as residents of the free economic zone (FEZ) Gomel-Raton. In turn, Gomel Oblast enterprises stepped up their presence on the Russian market by 1.5 times.
Work continues across the board. Mutual interest at the level of heads of regions is on the rise. Ivan Krupko assured that all negotiations end with a ready portfolio of orders or the signing of memorandums. For instance, as a result of a recent visit of the Gomel Oblast delegation to the Russian city of Ufa projects and orders worth over RUB1 billion were signed. Gomel Oblast enterprises are now busy executing them.
The Gomel Oblast governor noted: “Gomel Oblast takes an active part in integration activity, primarily with bordering regions of the Russian Federation. We are working on creating a transboundary labor market, taking measures to expand foreign trade events. It is logical that Bryansk Oblast has been the third biggest buyer of goods after Moscow and the oblast for several years. Russia accounts for three fourths of the total volume of foreign trade operations.” Products made by Gomselmash, BMZ, Gomel Chemical Plant, Rechitsa Hardware Plant, SvetlogorskKhimvolokno, Gomelglass, and other companies have earned a good reputation on the Russian market. In 2022 the export of meat and dairy industry products exceeded $515 million, with the export growth rate reaching 134%.
The solemn assembly in anticipation of Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia took place in the Gomel Social and Cultural Center.
