Gomel, Amur Oblast to expand economic cooperation

GOMEL, 6 February (BelTA) - Gomel and Amur Oblast will expand the areas of economic cooperation, Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Vladimir Dvornik told BelTA after the negotiations with members of the official delegation of the Far East region, which visited the regional center on 6 February. During the meeting, agreement was reached to increase the trade across the existing areas of cooperation. "This is the supply of Gomselmash knock-down kits for the joint assembly plant and also dairy products. For us it is very important, as the region needs to export approximately 70% of the output. So the growth of production in any of the industries must be supported by export contracts,” said Vladimir Dvornik. According to him, the parties found a mutual interest in such areas as provision of equipment for dairy farms, technologies for the cultivation and processing of corn, and some other products manufactured in the region. "A delegation of managers of industrial enterprises of Gomel will soon visit Amur Oblast to meet with the local business community and start practical implementation of the agreements. I am sure that the prospects of our joint work are very good, the governor stressed. In January-November 2012 Belarus’ exports to Amur Oblast amounted to $55.6 million. Gomel Oblast accounted for 32.3% of Belarusian exports.
