MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – It is necessary to develop Belarus' machine-tool manufacturing industry faster. Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik gave the relevant instructions during a routine conference at premises of Minsk Automatic Lines Plant (MZAL), BelTA has learned.
Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik, Deputy Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov took part in the meeting. Heads of a number of Belarusian machine-tool manufacturing enterprises were also invited and presented their reports (Belorgstankinprom Institute, Vistan, Gomel Machine Tool Units Plant, Machine-Tool Plant Krasny Borets, StankoGomel, MZOR, Machine Tool Plant named after S.M.Kirov).
Speaking about the overall performance of the production sector last year, Piotr Parkhomchik lauded it. “On the whole, the production sector took in stride the challenges and discriminatory measures used by unfriendly countries. The results are impressive. Since August 2022 the performance of the production sector has been growing and rising by 0.2-0.3 percentage points every month. The Industry Ministry did best of all,” the deputy prime minister stated.
Yet Piotr Parkhomchik described plans on developing machine-tool industry enterprises as insufficiently ambitious. He mentioned there is a great untapped potential.
Participants of the conference determined vectors of operation of the enterprises and made plans for their faster development for the sake of ensuring technological independence.
The heads of the enterprises were instructed to step up investment and innovation efforts in order to raise manufacturing standards up to the world level and in order to significantly increase their output for the sake of satisfying the demand of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in full.
Instructions were given to work out investment programs, which realization will allow the enterprises to retool, ensure high labor productivity, and significantly increase economic effectiveness of their operation.
