MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) - Belarusian agricultural workers have planted buckwheat on 42.2% of the target area, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 16 May, spring crops were planted on the area of 1,9855,300 hectares, which is 85.7% of the plan. Planting was done on 91.3% of the designated area in Brest Oblast, 85.4% of the area in Vitebsk Oblast, 74.2% of the area in Gomel Oblast, and 95.2% in Grodno Oblast, 87.8% in Minsk Oblast, and 81.6% in Mogilev Oblast.
Belarusian agricultural workers continue planting buckwheat (14,600ha, or 42.2% of the plan), millet (4,180ha, or 41.4%), vegetables (3,360ha, or 70%), maize – (858,800ha, or 75.4%), including grain maize (280,800ha, or 104.5%), maize for silage (578,000ha, or 66.4%). Potatoes were planted on 19,700 hectares, or 86.2% of the target.
