GOMEL, 5 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Gomselmash will make the first batch of ear corn harvesters Palesse MS6 in 2017, BelTA learned from Sergei Fedorovich, Chief Designer of the company’s harvester engineering division.
The Palesse MS6 harvester is designed to gather in ear corn in the fields meant to produce corn seeds. The harvester will process six rows at once due to peculiarities of growing hybrid corn for seeds.
According to the source, such harvesters are not manufactured in the CIS states although corn for seeds is grown in Belarus, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine. “The market capacity is estimated at about 30 harvesters per annum. We believe that Palesse MS6 harvesters will sell well because our harvesters cost half as much as the competitor made by a Western Europe company,” remarked Sergei Fedorovich. “We are now assembling two harvesters for a specific customer from Russia.”
The year 2017 will be rather intense for the team of the harvester engineering division of Gomselmash. Blueprints for the new grain harvesters that will be tested during this year’s harvesting campaign have already been made. The designers are working on three new original harvester models that will allow raising the technological standards of Gomselmash products to a new level.
According to the source, Gomselmash now offers grain harvesters in six performance classes. “Although Gomselmash has been making grain harvesters for less than 20 years, the company is already one of the world’s six top manufacturers,” stressed Sergei Fedorovich.
The modernization of the existing models continues. The company intends to upgrade the specifications of eight new models that were fielded last year. Plans have been made to develop new beet harvesters. There are good prospects relating to cotton harvesters and other areas.
The Belarusian industrial group Gomselmash is a major manufacturer of agricultural machines. It is one of the world’s top manufacturers of harvesters and other complicated agricultural machines. Under the proprietary brand Palesse the company offers grain and forage harvesters, corn and potato harvesters, mowers and other kinds of agricultural machines. The Palesse family includes 16 types of agricultural machines, 75 basic models and modifications, 70 kinds of adapters and implements designed for harvesting various kinds of crops.
