MOSCOW, 21 February (BelTA) – Belarus and Kirov Oblast have drawn a list of activities for 2023-2026 to implement the agreement on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the government of Belarus and the administration of Kirov Oblast. The document was signed by Gomel Oblast Governor Ivan Krupko, who is responsible for Belarus' interaction with this Russian region, and Kirov Oblast Governor Alexander Sokolov at the Belarusian embassy in Russia on 20 February, BelTA has learned.
Ivan Krupko told reporters after the signing ceremony that the Belarusian delegation in Kirov includes senior officials of the Industry Ministry, the Agriculture and Food Ministry, a number of concerns and enterprises. According to the governor, the trip to Kirov was preceded by meticulous work on the proposals that Belarus was going to put forward in Kirov. “During the visit, MTZ will sign agreements to supply more than 250 tractors. Gomselmash has also brought its cooperation program. AMKODOR, Mozyrsol, Spartak and other Belarusian enterprises are ready to supply their products and cooperate in import substitution, set up joint ventures,” Ivan Krupko said.
“Amidst a huge pressure associated with the sanctions, we should strive to work out product supplies with each Russian region, we need to come up with such forms of import substitution that would enable us to complement each other economically and facilitate the supply of common products to the markets of third countries,” the Gomel Oblast governor emphasized.
He added that cooperation with Russian regions is also important for Gomel Oblast itself: “75% of our exports go to the regions of the Russian Federation.”
