Belarus' food export to Kaluga Oblast up by almost a quarter in 2022

MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – In 2022 Belarus increased its food export to Kaluga Oblast by almost a quarter, BelTA informs citing the Telegram channel of the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

“In 2022 the trade in foodstuffs and agricultural raw materials between Belarus and Kaluga Oblast expanded by 17.2% over 2021. The export of Belarusian products rose by 23.9%, the import increased by 15.3%,” the post reads.

The main exports are dairy and meat products, trees and other plants, fish products, bird eggs, and animal feed. The main imports are dog and cat food (more than 50% of imports), malt beer, malt extract, flour confectionery, sugar, chocolate. Kaluga Oblast has a big network of stores selling a wide range of food products from Belarus.

Currently the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation together with the embassy is working to expand the supply of Belarus-made feed products for fish farms in Kaluga Oblast.

The possibility of deliveries to Kaluga Oblast of Gomelagrokomplekt high-tech equipment for dairy farms is under discussion.
