Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno, Rostec to set up joint venture
GOMEL, 3 June (BelTA) - Svetlogorsk Khimvolokno and Russia's Rostec Corporation hold talks regarding the establishment of a joint venture, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota told reporters as part of his one-day trip to Gomel Oblast on 3 June, BelTA has learned.

Belarus welcomes cooperation to overcome Chernobyl consequences
VETKA, 30 May (BelTA) – Belarus welcomes any kind of cooperation in alleviating consequences of the Chernobyl disaster and is thankful to the United Nations Development Program, Belarusian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Vashchenko told media in the town of Vetka on 29 May. The Minister accompanied UNDP Administrator, UN Under Secretary General Helen Clark during her visit to Gomel Oblast, BelTA has learned.

Ambassador: Iraq willing to send more students to Belarus
GOMEL, 19 May (BelTA) - Iraq is interested in increasing the number of its students and postgraduates at universities of Belarus, including the universities of Gomel Oblast, Iraqi Ambassador to Belarus Haidar Hadi said as he met with Chairman of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee Vladimir Dvornik, BelTA has learned.

Investment agreements worth $560m to be signed at Gomel Economic Forum

Gomel Economic Forum to net over ten investment contracts
GOMEL, 8 May (BelTA) – More than ten investment contracts and protocols of intent are supposed to be signed at the forthcoming Gomel Economic Forum. Italian athletes to partake in summer biathlon tournament in Gomel
GOMEL, 25 April (BelTA) – Italian athletes will take part in an international summer biathlon tournament which is due in Gomel on 25-26 April, the sports and tourism department of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee told BelTA following the meeting with representatives of the Italian association Focolaccia and the sport center Libertas.

Bryansk Oblast, Gomel Oblast to double mutual trade
GOMEL, 8 April (BelTA) – Bryansk Oblast and Gomel Oblast are determined to double the mutual trade up to $1 billion in the next few years, Bryansk Oblast Deputy Governor Fyodor Kostyuchenko told reporters on 2 April.
