Belarus’ leading confectionaries Gomel-based Spartak and Minsk-based Kommunarka took part in All Candy Expo in Chicago, US. The exhibition was held on June 6-8, BelTA was informed by Spartak’s deputy sales and marketing director Maria Khmeleva.
It is the third time that the Belarusian confectioneries take part in the expo. This year they showcased both traditional and new products at their joint stall. Spartak presented gift chocolate boxes “Belarus’ Heritage”, “Mir Castle” chocolate, aerated chocolate bars as well as chocolate bars with various fillings. Kommunarka presented “Sweet Dance” series, new chocolate boxes “History of Taste” and “Kommunarka-VIP” produced for the company’s 75th jubilee, candy in flow-pack wrapping.
Representatives of the two confectioneries negotiated successfully with American distributors. Spartak struck a deal to boost aerated chocolate exports. Kommunarka conducted talks on trial deliveries.
Maria Khmeleva noted that such exhibitions provide good opportunities to extend producer’s markets via networking with industry professionals. She believes that the main goal of the participation was achieved.
Spartak has been selling to the United States for five years already. Apart from North America, the company exports to Latin America and Canada. In January-May Spartak produced 11,800 tons of confectionery and exported 3,700 of them.
