Sergei Sidorsky: Belarus harvesting campaign at high level

The harvesting campaign this year has been properly organized, Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky has told reporters today during a working visit to Gomel oblast. About 14,000 combine harvesters are engaged in the campaign. “Now they are set to work 24 hours a day if the weather allows that,” the Prime Minister said. In his words, so far Belarus has harvested over 2.5 million tons of grain. “Tomorrow the head of state will hold a video link meeting focusing on the harvesting campaign. The government believes that all the problems of this year’s campaign have been solved already in every oblast,” the Prime Minister said. In particular, all works have been funded. The Prime Minister noted that for a successful outcome the head of state had made “several important decisions” dealing with crediting agricultural works and supplies of new combine harvesters. In particular, 1,360 combines were bought. Some 70 combine harvesters more and 700 MAZ trucks will be bought as well. Thus, we made everything possible to collect 7.2 million tons of grain this year. Regardless bad weather we will harvest this grain,” Sergei Sidorsky said.
