The agreements Belarus and Venezuela signed to regulate cooperation in military and technical field are not aimed at establishing a direct effect military alliance, Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Martynov told a press conference on December 10.
He noted, the agreement is a framework one and “its further development will be determined by the needs of the parties”.
Sergei Martynov also said, virtually all exhibits showcased during the National Expo of Belarus in Venezuela had been bought. The purchases amounted to around $3 million. According to the Minister, the expo met considerable interest in Venezuelan official circles and the general public. On the opening day many Venezuelan TV channels broadcast detail coverage of the event, with the high quality of Belarusian goods underscored. The reports also underlined that Belarus is a leading ex-USSR state in terms of the intact economic and technological potential. Belarus is ready for enhanced collaboration with Venezuela in these areas, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
