SCC-led working party to examine petroleum sales in Belarus

On February 11 President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko heard out a report from Chairman of the State Control Committee Zenon Lomat, the press service of the President of Belarus told BelTA. The head of state was informed about the SCC performance in January and the fulfilment of the President’s instructions, in particular, the progress of building the cultural and sport complex Minsk-Arena. Zenon Lomat said there are issues regarding the utilisation of state budget money and false reporting. Problems of starting up the production of juices and infant food made of fruits and vegetables were also discussed. At present import accounts for 60% of juices in Belarus. The topic was tabled by a session of the SCC board. During the meeting an essential talk concerning import substitution issues took place. In March the topic will be in the centre of attention of an out session of the SCC board in the Gomel oblast. Sales of petroleum products were also discussed. Examinations at several refuelling stations revealed the presence of diesel fuel in the Premium petrol AI-95. The President backed the SCC’s proposal to set up a working party of representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Interior Ministry, the KGB led by the State Control Committee in order to carry out a complex examination of the situation regarding petroleum sales. The head of state was also informed about results of examinations of the Defence Ministry and the Interior Ministry. Other issues were also discussed.
