Promotion of small Belarusian towns named government's major concern

Economic promotion and dynamic development of Belarusian towns similar to Oktyabrskiy is one of the main concerns of the country's leadership. Alexander Lukashenko made the point while delivering his speech to residents of Oktyabrskiy town, as the settlement was connected to the national gas supply network. The head of state noted, the most important part has been accomplished: gas communications to the town have been built. A 42km offset and over 10 km of distribution pipelines have been built to connect Oktyabrskiy to the national gas supply network. Alexander Lukashenko stressed, the gas pipeline was constructed in complicated natural conditions. Over 3 km of the pipeline passes through a swamp, almost 18 km — through forests. The quality work was completed ahead of the schedule. Equipped with modern telemetric and telematic apparatus, the gas pipeline will ensure uninterrupted natural gas supply to the town. All the factors will contribute to the town's social and economic development. Over 30 industrial and municipal installations in the district may be connected to the gas supply network. The president noted, almost 1,200 apartments will have themselves connected to the gas supply grid in the next few years. The head of state urged not to waste natural gas, electricity in the real economy sector, ensure rational use of electric energy in the municipal sector. Alexander Lukashenko reckons, locally available kinds of fuel should be used more widely. It is necessitated by the time and the social and economic policy pursued by the Belarusian government.
