Prime minister informs president about results of socio-economic development for 10 months

On November 10 president of Belarus met with prime minister Sergei Sidorskiy to receive his report, BelTA was informed in the presidential press service. The prime minister informed Alexander Lukashenko about the results of socio-economic development of the republic for 10 months of the current year. On the whole the economy is developing actively and efficiently. GDP grew by 8,6 per cent against 2004. It enables the government to pay pensions in full and to give all social guarantees to citizens. The average wage made in the republic Br485 thousand. Till the end of the current year it should reach USD 250 in equivalent. Sergei Sidorskiy noted that in October inflation was 0,9 per cent. This is one of the lowest indices among the CIS member-states. On the whole in January-October inflation made about 5 per cent. The president set a task not to exceed the planned lowest inflation level. The prime minister reported that over the period the foreign trade of Belarus accounted for over USD 25 billion having increased by 11 per cent. A surplus of foreign trade makes up USD 655 million. An important economic indicator is profitability of products which accounted for 16 per cent while labour productivity surpasses 10 per cent. It is important that the GDP growth is achieved by means of cutting down the GDP energy intensity. The positive tendencies attest to the effectiveness of the program on developing economy, energy intensity and energy safety. The president was informed that over the 10 months about 3 million square meters of housing were constructed in the country. The program on construction of houses in rural regions has been successfully underway. All oblasts are expected to fulfill it.
