One more mineral wool board plant to be built in Gomel

One more up-to-date plant to produce hard mineral wool boards will be built at OAO Gomelstroimaterialy. The new facility producing heat-insulating materials is expected to come fully on stream in 2008. Such decision was taken today in the course of a working trip of prime minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorskiy to Gomel oblast. Bearing in mind the existing plant the aggregate annual production capacity of the aforementioned facilities will make up to 500 thousand cubic meters of wool boards, which will meet all international standards. The plants will completely satisfy the demands of Belarus for this construction material. According to Sergei Sidorskiy, there is no doubt that the project will be successfully implemented. First, OAO Gomelstroimaterialy has wide experience of setting up analogous productions. Second, the company has virtually paid off a loan worth of Br21 billion, which it utilized in 2004-2005 to build the first plant. The prime minister has underlined that in three-four years more than 100 new plants will be built in the country following latest technologies. About 600-800 big projects are expected to be implemented to upgrade the existing productions. Moreover, such big companies as MAZ, MTZ and others will go through large-scale reforms. All this proves Belarus has been set on an innovation-based development path, Sergei Sidorskiy said.
