Within two years a new plant should be set up in Osipovichi for producing railway cars. The instruction was issued by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko when he visited Mogilev Carriage Works on November 23.
The head of state approved the project for starting up the production of railway cars in Osipovichi. Belarusian Railways and ZAO Grand Express (Russia) will take part in the project. “It is good that another investor and carriage producer will come to Belarus. We will create new jobs this way. Besides, we should begin building homes in view of the new project,” said the President.
The project’s payback period varies from 6 to 8 years. Specialists believe it is the optimum period for such projects.
ZAO Grand Express is also expected to set up a carriage repairs shop. The business plan for the new Osipovichi Carriage Works is supposed to be ready by late December.
Addressing First Vice Premier Vladimir Semashko, Alexander Lukashenko underscored, “Treat them like our company. Help them with designers and builders. I expect to hear no complaints from them”.
The President also added, the construction of all facilities of Osipovichi Carriage Works should be done simultaneously. Alexander Lukashenko remarked, it will create sound competition in the Belarusian carriage making, which in turn will favourably influence the quality and price of the final product.
