Legal document on targeted social aid to be drawn up by January 2008, V.Konoplev says

A legal document on the targeted social aid will be drawn up by January 2008, chair of the Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Konoplev has said today in a meeting with members of the Novopolotsk town council of deputies. The law on social privileges will be valid till the beginning of the next year, Vladimir Konoplev said. According to him, “the draft law on social privileges adopted by the National Assembly of Belarus is not simple.” It was discussed by the parliamentary commissions many times. The Belarusian MPs passed the law despite the fact that it was the most unpopular legal enactment for the last 12 years for the Belarusian society. “Social guarantees are offered in the whole world but in the form of targeted assistance,” he added. Belarus has set up a working group to draft the law on targeted social aid, Vladimir Konoplev said. The deputies of the Chamber of Representatives of Belarus are among its members.
