Labor pensions in Belarus to be indexed by 9 per cent November 1

The labor pensions in Belarus will be indexed by 9 per cent on November 1. The average retirement pension will make up Br285, 8 thousand. The Belarusian president signed a relevant decree on October 20. The decision was passed in line with the president’s instruction to raise the financial well-being of pensioners and to maintain the growth of pensions comparable with the growth of incomes in the national economy. This year the labor pensions were indexed in January and May. Moreover, in connection with the increase of the living wage budget in February, May and August, minimum and social pensions were indexed. As a result, since the beginning of 2006 the pensions have upped by 17.8 per cent. In September the average retirement pension made up Br260, 5 thousand.
