According to a monitoring, 80 per cent of the potential electorate is in favor of the incumbent president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, chairman of the commission for control over sociologic research under the National Academy of Sciences Igor Kotlyarov informed during a round-table discussion in Minsk.
“There are 80 per cent of those who support two official languages in the country and integration with Russia,” he specified.
“A distinguishing feature of the program of Alexander Lukashenko is that he has got the result which is evident, while the opponents have nothing but the slogans”, director of the Institute of Sociology under the National Academy of Sciences Georgiy Evelkin stressed.
Meanwhile, the director of the center of the sociological and political research of Belarusian State University David Rotman considers that it is not only the ratings that are important. In the course of the poll within the framework of the program “European Values” Belarusians said they value above all the family, health and job. “What does it mean? It means that a person having such values should, first of all, think how he lives. The authorities are judged by certain deeds. A man will support the one who creates comfortable living conditions for him”, the sociologist stressed.
