In 2006 companies-residents of free economic zone Gomel-Raton increase export by 28%

In 2006 companies-residents of the free economic zone (FEZ) Gomel-Raton exported goods at the value of $80,1 million, or 28% up as against 2005, BelTA has been informed in the administration of the zone. As during previous years, the main consumers of residents of FEZ Gomel-Raton were partners from Russia and other CIS countries – their share made up 77% of the total exports. The supplies to the Russian Federation made up 64.3% of the total export. FEZ Gomel-Raton increased the foreign trade surplus with the CIS member states from $12,5 million in 2005 up to $22,4 million in 2006. The foreign trade surplus with Russian trade partners upped three times to make up $13,3 million. In 2006 the exports of companies-residents of the zone to the non-CIS countries increased by 65.5% to reach $18,3 million. According to the results of the last year, the leading exporters of FEZ Gomel-Raton were the companies “Belcaps” and “Kashtan” which produce packaging materials, OAO “Electroapparatura”, COAO Gomelkabel and COOO Becker-System. The biggest export growth belongs to the foreign company Belcaps (by 38.4%), COAO Gomelkabel (by 33.9%) and the foreign company “Kashtan” (by 30.9%). FEZ Gomel-Raton was created in line with Belarus president's decree No. 93 of March 2, 1998. It is subdivided into production, export, and free customs areas. At present the FEZ hosts 35 economic entities.
