The movie “I Remember…” (director Sergei Sychov) and documentary “The Chernobyl Cross” (director Anatoliy Alay) is shown in the Chernobyl-affected regions, culture ministry official Vladimir Kuprienko told BelTA.
The first night of “I Remember…” dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Chernobyl tragedy and a meeting with the film crew took place in Gomel. By April 30 the film will be sown in Gomel, Mogilev and Minsk oblasts.
The idea behind “I Remember…” is that a small man can do a lot. The script was penned by a well-known Belarusian dramatist Fedor Konev. The lead roles are performed by national artist of Belarus Vladimir Gostyukhin, Anatoliy Kot and Yuliya Kadushkevich.
The cast also includes Tatiana Markhel, Piotr Yurchenkov Jr., Anzhela Korableva, and Dmitriy Yesenevich.
The national premiere of "I Remember…" was held on December 17, 2005, reminded Vladimir Kupriyenko. The movie was on at 50 cinemas and video halls on the Belarusian Cinema Day.
The latest Belarusian documentary production titled as "Chernobyl Cross" narrates the tragedy from the first day up to the present time. It is a joint project by Belarusfilm cinema studio, the culture ministry and the Chernobyl aftermath committee under the Council of Ministers, added Vladimir Kupriyenko. Satellite channel Belarus-TV also plans to broadcast it.
These days several video films such as "Chernobyl 20 Years After" and "Chernobyl Jungles" will be shown in Chernobyl-affected areas of the country.
