Gomel oblast sows 86 per cent of spring crops

As of April 25 Gomel oblast has sown 86 per cent of the plan of spring crops. Today governor of Gomel oblast Alexander Yakobson told Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko, who is on a working trip to the oblast and is presently visiting the agricultural cooperative society Druzhba-Avtyuki, that high performance has come on the back of good state assistance. In particular, due to the government assistance the oblast managed to upgrade its fleet of tractors by 367 units. The increase in the number of energy-intensive equipment is one of the keys to successful performance of the oblast this year, Alexander Yakobson said. Some 100 per cent of cereals has been sown in the Kalinkovichi region. The agrarians are working at full pelt. The agricultural cooperative society Druzhba-Avtyuki has commenced to sowing corn. This plant will be given 24 thousand hectares in the Kalinkovichi region and 1,2 thousand hectares in the agricultural cooperative society Druzhba-Avtyuki.
