Gomel football team heading for national cup

After the eighth round of the national football cup Gomel team is still in the lead. Despite the stand-off in the match against Brest’s Dinamo Gomel team still tops the tournament table with 19 points. Soligorsk Shakhter keeps close to the leader with 18 points after beating Minsk MTZ-RIPO 2-0. Shakhter’s forward Pavel Beganskiy is named the best shooter for scoring 6 goals. Darida and BATE are in close competition with each club having 17 points. Both the teams played out matches and won with the same score 2-1. Darida displeased Mogilev’s Dnepr while the Borisov team beat Bobruisk’s Belshina. Here are the results of other matches of the 8th round: Torpedo (Zhodino) vs Neman (Grodno) – 2-1, Naftan (Novopolotsk) vs Dinamo (Minsk) – 0-2, Lokomotiv (Minsk) vs Lokomotiv (Vitebsk) – 0-0. Matches of the next round will be held on Saturday, June 10.
