Chernobyl committee deputy chairman earns president's commendation

On May 4 Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko commended deputy chairman of the Chernobyl aftermath committee under the Council of Ministers Valeriy Shevchuk and first deputy head of the healthcare, social security and liquidation department of Chernobyl catastrophe consequences of the Council of Ministers Apparatus Larisa Terlyayeva. Valeriy Shevchuk and Larisa Terlyayeva were awarded for their personal contributions to the implementation of state programmes for minimising and overcoming consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe, the Belarusian president's press service told BelTA. A letter of thanks of the Belarusian president was also issued to aircraft technician of the aircraft technical base of the national aviation unitary enterprise "Airport Gomelavia" Ivan Nesterov for his many years of fruitful work and significant contribution to alleviating consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe.
