By 2011, about 105 thousand of new working places will be set up in small and medium towns of Belarus. The draft state program of development of regions, small and medium towns for 2006-2010 has been considered today by a sitting of the Council of Ministers led by Belarusian prime minister Sergey Sidorskiy.
According to the prime minister, the program of development should be designed for every region and then, it should be agreed with the corresponding oblast executive committee. The prime minister noted that in small and medium towns of the country it is necessary to set up the production-economic infrastructure which will ensure the self-reliance of these regions. Moreover, there is a need to provide these towns with financial-industrial capital. Sergey Sidorskiy highlighted, the developing companies of small and medium towns should receive benefits for concrete projects and development plans only.
Thus, the draft state program of development of regions, small and medium towns till 2011 of Brest oblast provides for setting up about 19 thousand of new working places. All in all, the oblast intends to implement 100 investment projects. Some Br3,5 trillion is supposed to be invested in the framework of the program. By 2010, the jobless rate in small and medium towns of Brest oblast is expected to be reduced two times as against 2005.
Within five years, Gomel oblast will set up 13,5 thousand of new working places, carry out 122 investment projects. The total investments in the framework of the program can make up Br2,3 trillion.
In 2006-2010, the number of new working places at small and medium-sized companies of Mogilev oblast will make 13 thousand. Some 177 investment projects will be implemented there.
Within five years, about 20,5 thousand new working places will be set up in small and medium towns of Grodno oblast. Some 435 investment projects are supposed to be implemented there.
Some 16 thousand working places will be set up in Vitebsk oblast. 130 investment projects are expected to be implemented in 2006-2010 at small and medium-sized companies of that oblast . Some Br2 trillion will be allocated to support small and medium-sized companies.
In Minsk oblast, 16 thousand of new working places will be set up, 92 investment projects will be implemented including 63 - in production sphere. All in all, some Br3,7 trillion will be invested to support these towns.
