Yekaterina Murashko and Alina Yushko from Gomel won the women’s pair gold medal at the acrobatic world championships in Portugal, BelTA has been told in the ministry of sport and tourism. This is a record high achievement of the Belarusians at world tournaments.
The Belarusians were third after the qualifications, with Russian and Chinese pairs taking the lead. However, the Belarusians performed immaculately clean program in the finals to clinch the gold. Russia and China settled for the second and third places respectively. Kristina Kokhniuk and Natalia Moroziuk from Brest settled in sixth in this discipline.
Fifth in the qualifications, Galina Starevich, Tatyana Motuz and Maria Girut calimed bronze medals in the women’s group finals.
