Belarus to up gas transportation by 15.1 per cent in Q1 2006

In Q1 2006 the volume of gas pumped through Belarus' gas trunks will increase by 15.1 per cent up on the corresponding period of last year to 17.7 billion cubic metres, the ministry of statistics and analysis told BelTA. According to the ministry of statistics and analysis, Belarusian consumers had 6.4 billion cubic metres of gas transported, 7.9 per cent up on January-March 2005. In Q1 2006 the Belarusian oil trunks transported 26 million tons of oil, 100 per cent as against the same period of 2005. Belarusian consumers had 4.9 million tons of oil transported, 4.3 per cent up on January-March 2005. Belarusian companies transport oil in line with contracts signed with AK Transneft OJSC. In Belarus oil transportation is catered to by Gomeltransneft Druzhba and Novopolotsk-based oil transportation company Druzhba (Vitebsk region).
