Belarus has secured 100% of the public grain purchases. Belarus’ grain storage facilities and grain reception centres have received 1 million 20.6 thousand tonnes of grain bought by the government while the target was 1 million 10 thousand tonnes, BelTA learnt from Yelena Poltoran, Chief Economist of the Resources and Trade Office of the Cereal Products Department of the Belarusian Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs.
The first to secure the plan was the Minsk oblast with 258,2 thousand tonnes of grain (the projections were 225 thousand tonnes). The Vitebsk oblast delivered 128 thousand tonnes, or 2.4% up above the target and Gomel oblast - 131.7 thousand tonnes, or 1.3% up.
The Brest oblast coped with the task last weekend and beat the target by 0.9% (171.6 thousand tonnes).
This year’s public grain contract stands at 336 thousand tonnes of wheat. It was beaten by 23% (414,3 thousand tonnes delivered). The public rye purchase plan is secured by 97.4% (420.6 thousand tonnes delivered while the target is 432 thousand tonnes). The plan on purchasing other crops is secured by 76.7% (185.7 thousand tonnes of grain delivered while the projections were 242 thousand tonnes).
According to the experts, the measures are being taken to secure the public purchase plan. Grain storage facilities and grain reception centres have received grain on the terms beneficial for the producers, Yelena Poltoran said.
