The Russian leadership is not yet ready to build a full-fledged Union State, Belarus president Alexander Lukashenko told the press today.
According to the head of state, the Russian side does not want to have a unified management system and a single economy with Belarus. The president noted, Russia is neither ready to elect the single Union parliament and the president. “I have been given this answer by the leadership of the Russian Federation many times. What kind of union do you want?” wondered the Belarusian leader.
He emphasised, “If every year Russia resorts to the valve solution, shuts off gas or oil supplies to its ally, the Union State is out of the question”.
