The Belarusian side argues for natural gas supply terms equal to those available to economic entities in the Russian Federation. “We would like to continue buying natural gas according to the terms we have been using”, the Belarusian head of state voiced the stance during his negotiations with Russia president Vladimir Putin in Moscow. Alexander Lukashenko released the information today commenting on results of the Belarusian-Russian summit.
“We agreed to proceed from market terms. That means the price should be contractual, which is the essence of market practices. The price will be set through negotiations of Beltransgaz and Gazprom heads”, underlined Alexander Lukashenko.
“I would like to make it clear: there is no question where Belarus will get natural gas or not. The question is what the price for the gas will be. Russia president and I did not discuss a specific gas price. If you learn it was different, then it is bluff. The president of Russia said it is not our issue. Gas prices are a point for economic entities to negotiate just like oil prices”, added the Belarusian leader.
