Belarus President: funding for paying agricultural projects only

The Belarusian agriculture will get funding for paying projects only, said head of state Alexander Lukashenko as he visited the Ivanovo region (Brest oblast) on September 13. “We will not pour money into agriculture for no particular reason,” said the President of Belarus. “Belarus’ GDP is on the rise. Year by year the country grows richer. This is why we will allocate funding for agricultural projects. But these projects should pay their way,” added Alexander Lukashenko. The President underscored, all measures outlined by the State Village Revival Programme should be fulfilled. “We have turned round the steady performers and pushed them to European levels. Now we have got down to weak ones. It is important for heads of agricultural companies to continue working hard,” said the President. Alexander Lukashenko also demanded that heads of agricultural companies should meticulously streamline the structure of their crops. “If you see that this or that agronomic crop doesn’t grow well, seed agronomic crops that will bring maximum benefits,” noted the head of state. The President emphasised, in the nearest future in Belarus priority attention will be given to restoring reclaimed lands.
