Belarus is one of the most active and initiative members of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation. The country builds up initiatives in the collective security field, CSTO secretary general Nikolai Bordyuzha told today’s press conference in Moscow.
He noted, the Belarusian-Russian economic problems had not affected the CSTO cooperation of the two states. Contrariwise, Nikolai Bordyuzha underlined, Belarus is stepping up the cooperation with Russia within the CSTO framework. “Now we are preparing joint army exercises, which are scheduled for this spring. In particular, the exercises are supposed to perfect alleviation of consequences of a terrorist attack, which uses weapons of mass destruction”, informed the CSTO secretary general.
“From Belarus we receive multiple initiatives for coordinating foreign policy activities of the CSTO”, noted Nikolai Bordyuzha.
