MINSK, 26 May (BelTA) – Murmansk Oblast is an important trade and economic partner for the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom, BelTA learned from the Bellesbumprom’s press service.
Belarus’ government delegation paid a working visit to Murmansk. Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko and Murmansk Oblast Governor Andrei Chibis discussed various options for building a port in Murmansk. “Murmansk Oblast is an important trade and economic partner for the organizations making part of the Bellesbumprom concern. There are plans to build a BelAZ repair and service center in the town of Apatity in the near future,” the press service said.
The Bellesbumprom concern added that in the first quarter of 2023, Bellesbumprom’s export to Murmansk Oblast rose by 38.5%, with furniture accounting for the bulk of the export to this Russian region.
