2nd Convocation of Slavonic Nations of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine to open today in Minsk

The 2nd Convocation of Slavonic Nations of Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine is scheduled to open in Minsk today to start a wide public movement in the three countries. Representatives of the organising committee told BelTA, the forum will gather around 600 delegates, including members of the Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, State Duma of the Russian Federation, Supreme Rada of Ukraine, scientific and cultural figures, businessmen, politicians and public figures. The convocation will concentrate on building up traditions of friendship and cooperation between nations of the three countries. The participants also intend to adopt a programme of actions to restore and develop economic, cultural, scientific ties between Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine. The forum framework includes seminars dedicated to various aspects of the cooperation. The concluding plenary session is expected to take place on April 11.
