Belarusbank calculated the sums of compensations for deposits made before 1991, chairman of the board Nadezhda Ermakova said at a stockholders’ meeting. The central election commission (CEC) of Belarus presented the official results of the presidential poll of March 19. Alexander Lukashenko was supported by 83 per cent of voters, CEC secretary NIkolay Lozovik reported. Some 6.1 per cent of the electorate supported Alexander Milinkevich, 3.5 per cent gave their votes in favor of Sergei Gaidukevich and 2.2 per cent voted for Alexander Kozulin.

The majority of votes were given to incumbent president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko – 82.3 per cent, the central election commission (CEC) informed. According to CEC, 5.8 per cent of citizens voted for Alexander Milinkevich, 3.6 per cent – for Sergei Gaidukevich and 2.3 per cent – for Alexander Kazulin.

By now election commissions of Belarus have counted 22.3 per cent of the ballot papers. Yet most votes are given to incumbent president Alexander Lukashenko – 88.5 per cent, CEC secretary Nikolay Lozovik said in a statement aired live on the national TV channel. According to her, 3.8 per cent of citizens voted for Alexander Milinkevich, 2.3 per cent – for Sergei Gaidukevich and 1.5 per cent – for Alexander Kazulin.
