Unique fountain to open in Gomel May 9

Installation and tuning of a unique fountain, which features light and hydrodynamic effects, have completed in Gomel. The fountain is placed next to the Gomel state circus. It is a 20 x 20 granite square with 12 round toruses, through which water will sprinkle upwards. Three horizontally rotating stars in the "heart" of the fountain are powered by the reactive water stream. Along with the hydrodynamic effects the fountain features 330 coloured lights, which would look superb at night. Sergei Plotko, chief architect of Gomel city hall's architecture and town development department, informed, the installation had taken about half a year. The city budget had allocated EUR 750,000 to buy the fountain. Besides, the territory surrounding the fountain has been accomplished with flower beds, bushes and trees. The unique fountain will be solemnly opened on May 9.
