Some 95 per cent of tillage and sowing machines including tractors are ready for the spring sowing campaign in Gomel oblast, a correspondent of BelTA was informed by deputy chairman of the agriculture and foodstuffs department of the Gomel oblast executive committee Anatoliy Pavliukov.
According to him, agricultural companies of the region were preparing their fleet of tractors by repairing farm machines and buying new ones. Regional companies were given a Br6,4bln loan to purchase spare parts and to restore worn units.
This year agricultural companies of the region have received 368 new powerful tractors, which were bought due to the state loan. The oblast will lease a hundred tractors more. According to Anatoliy Pavliukov, the companies also purchased about 100 wide-cut cultivators, a lot of reverse ploughs and other state-of-the-art implements.
Till the end of the week readiness of the companies of Gomel oblast for field operations will be inspected. And in 5-6 days the region will prepare all its tillage and sowing machines for service, Anatoliy Pavliukov said.
