Gomel to commend best school graduates June 9

The best graduates of Gomel schools will be honoured on June 9. Representatives of the city education department told BelTA, 108 medallists and winners of national academic competitions were invited to attend the solemn ceremony in the column hall of Rumyantsevs-Paskevichs Palace. Gomel mayor Alexander Belyayev is expected to congratulate the graduates on successfully graduating from school and to deliver a farewell speech. The former school students will be presented mementos. The source noted, such meetings allow young citizens to feel the significance of their academic achievements and understand that the city takes pride in their successes.
