Gomel oblast to partake in march to mark 65th anniversary of Kursk battle

The Gomel oblast will take part in the international march in the Kursk oblast on May 4-8. A six-member delegation including front-line soldiers, leaders of youth organizations and soldiers-internationalists will join the event to mark the 65th anniversary of the battle of Kursk. The idea to organize the march appeared eight years ago, BelTA learnt from Timofei Glushakov, the chairman of the Gomel oblast department of the Belarusian world foundation. The first march was initiated by the regional organizations of the world foundation of the Gomel oblast and the Kursk oblast. Later on the forum extended its format. According to Timofei Glushakov, this year the march comprises the delegations from Russian towns of Belgorod and Orel, Ukrainian Kharkov. The participants will visit the settlements that witnessed the landmark events in the history of the Great Patriotic War. The march will over in Kursk with a charitable concert at the central square.
