Delegation of Gomel region industrial enterprises to visit Moscow

A delegation of Gomel region industrial enterprises will visit Moscow on April 4-7. The visit framework will include a roundtable sitting involving representatives of Moscow business circles and a presentation of Gomel producers. "Promotion of our producers' make onto the Russia capital's market, expansion of the commodity distribution network and finding new partners there are priorities in the work of the regional executive power", said Elvira Karnitskaya, head of the delegation and chairperson of the Gomel region administration's economy committee. According to the source, during the visit an agreement on cooperation of Gomel-Raton free economic zone and Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be signed. The parties also plan to discuss setting up joint ventures and several other mutually beneficial projects. The Gomel region delegation includes representatives of Gomel branch of the Belarusian chamber of commerce and industry, Gomel distillery, Gomeldrev OJSC and others. Last year Gomel region exported USD 722.3 million worth of commodities to Russia. Moscow and the region accounted for 45.4 per cent of the sum. In January 2006 the export to Russia made USD 56 million, with Moscow and the region accounting for USD 27 million (almost 40 per cent up on the corresponding period of last year).
