Chagall’s Days in Gomel to be held on April 5-10

The festival “Chagall’s Days in Gomel” will be held on April 5-10, BelTA was informed by cultural department’s employee of the Gomel town executive committee Tatyana Puzyrenko. The festival will be opened today in Gavriil Vaschenko’s Art Gallery with the exhibition “Mark Chagall and the Bible”. According to the interlocutor, the exposition will showcase 50 original artworks borrowed from the Chagall Museum in Vitebsk. Among them are paintings dedicated to biblical themes dated by the 1956-1960s. According to Tatyana Puzyrenko, the festival will also feature a modern choreography night which program includes performances of art companies of the town as well as the play dedicated to Mark Chagall “Roses and mimosas”. Apart from that, lectures about life and work of the famed artist will be read. The festival will be completed with a concert “Mark Chagall in literature, poetry and music”.
