Br8 billion to be put in Gomel oblast greeneries

In 2008, the Gomel oblast budget will allocate nearly Br8 billion for the reconstruction and construction of greeneries in the Gomel, Svetlogorsk, Rechitsa, Mozyr and Rogachev regions. The region cultivates a large amount of vegetables but the major problem is the products storing off-season, BelTA learnt from Valentin Babok, the chairman of the agriculture and foodstuffs committee of the Gomel oblast executive committee. The oblast falls short of up-to-date storages equipped with the conditioning system. According to the head of the committee, this year witnesses a difficult situation with the supply of large towns of the oblast with such vegetables as cabbage and carrots as their deliveries to the trading system stopped in March. According to Valentin Babok, the construction and reconstruction of greeneries will change the situation. Acting storages will be fitted with the conditioning system. New objects will meet all necessary requirements as well.
