Spring sowing campaign complete by 20 per cent

The Belarusian agricultural companies have sown spring crops on 209,4 thousand hectares or 20 per cent of the total square, head of the plant growing department of the agriculture and foodstuffs ministry Viktor Kornev told BelTA. According to him, some 520 thousand hectares or 47.5 per cent of the total square had been sown by the same time last year. This year’s sowing efforts should be accelerated 4 times to complete the campaign by May 1. This will be possible as all regions of the republic join in. By April 20 all agricultural companies in Mogilev and Vitebsk oblasts will get engaged in the campaign.
