MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) – Belarus has cropped 97% of area under grain and leguminous crops, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 30 August, 97% of the area under grain and leguminous crops and about 92% of the area under rapeseed was cleared in Belarus.
A total of 6,978,000 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, was cropped. This includes 6,032,000 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops and about 940,000 tonnes of rapeseed.
Belarusian agricultural workers have started harvesting cereal crops: more than 5,000 tonnes of buckwheat and millet have been cropped.
Sowing of winter rapeseed for grain has been completed. All regions in Belarus have completed flax pulling. The flax straw harvest exceeded 54,000 tonnes.
Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 64% of the area. Primary tillage was conducted on 15% of the cleared area.
Belarusian agricultural workers are harvesting potatoes. Over 26,000 tonnes of potatoes have already been removed from fields. The yield is 381 centners per hectare.
Some 1,282,000 tonnes of corn for silage have been cropped so far.
