5 April 2006
“The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Federal Space Agency of Russia have coordinated a draft new joint space program”, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich informed today at the IT congress Tibo-2006.
He said that the procedure of coordination was completed on Tuesday, April 4. “Belarus has shared its ideas about the new program with Roscosmos and worked out the project on its part,” Mikhail Myasnikovich noted.
At the same time he offered everyone interested in the project to submit their proposals on the program. “If some interesting offers emerge during the congress, there will still be an opportunity to include them in the document,” the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences said.
According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, two union programs are being carried out at present: “Space. Belarus – Russia” and “Space. The Union State”.
The latter envisages the creation of a single information data bank from the satellites, unified data registration and information processing systems and cutting-edge space technologies by 2007.
