In five years vocational colleges to train more than 225 thousand young specialists

The government has adopted the state program to develop vocational training for 2006-2010. The document is approved by the Council of Ministers’ resolution #422 of March 29, 2006.
As BelTA has been told in the Council of Ministers Office, the program aims to further the development of the vocational training system keeping it available and free in the state-run educational establishments. The braches of economy and social sphere should be supplied with highly qualified workforce. In five years vocational colleges will train 225,1 thousand young workers to satisfy the demand of the economy in personnel.
The work will be continued to develop vocational lyceums what is especially important for young people from rural regions. In the next five years the number of vocational colleges will be increased up to 170. This will account for 77.6 per cent of the total number of vocational training establishments. Some 145 national textbooks will be published and 2239 units of equipment and machines acquired in the five ensuing years.
The program will be financed by the republican and local budgets. Some Br250 billion will be allocated from various sources of financing including local budgets and specialized funds to finance the re-equipment of material and technical basis of vocational colleges. This will account for 9 per cent of the total cost of the program.
