Belarus wants international community to stir up activities to tackle Chernobyl catastrophe outcomes

Belarus waits the international community to take up more constructive approaches and stir up common efforts aimed to mitigate consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe, president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said during a meeting with residents of Bragin. “We are interested in international cooperation and support. We still have a lot to do, like to purify the land, improve the living conditions of people,” Alexander Lukashenko said. The head of state said he was sorry that “not everyone learns by mistakes”. “The world is full of nuclear threats voiced by either terrorists or super powers trying to dictate their will to other people and states. Our country, that suffered the most from the Nazis and the Chernobyl catastrophe, has the right to warn the international community about inadmissibility of using nuclear weapons in solving international disputes,” the president emphasized.
