Belarus village revival programme to boost expansion of gas supply coverage

The village revival programme will boost the expansion of the gas supply network. By 2010 Gomel region will have had 119 agro-towns connected to the gas supply network. The statement was made by Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko during a ceremony of connecting the town of Oktyabrskiy (Gomel region) to the gas supply network today. The head of state noted, much work has yet to be done to provide households with the pure fuel, first of all, in radiation-polluted territories. To speed up the work a draft document was compiled to decrease households' investments in building street-level distribution networks and offsets to individual houses (by nearly a third) with money of the central state and local budgets.
